if you have been in the quarry industry for a long time you will already have some knowledge of cone crushers. for those of you in the dark we offer a detailed explanation of the importance of cone crushers within the quarry industry.

quarrying methods used for quarrying stone varies according to the purpose the stone is being quarried for. when the quarried stone is going to be used as an industrial raw material, for example when limetsone is used for cement, the rock is shattered by means of explosives. these rock fragments are then further crushed by specialised quarry equipment in the form of cone crushers.

the action of crushing involves the breakering, crushing, or grinding by mechanical means using specialised crushers, of rock, stone or recycled materials, for direct use or further processing. the main reason for the crushing of the stone is to reduce the material to be a specified size range.

most types of crusher are available as mobile crushing units. cone crushers are comprised of a vertical conical chamber with a feed opening at the top and a vertical conical crushing head inside. the crushing head is lined with protective pieces known as the mantle.

the chamber is also lined with protective pieces, commonly called concaves. the material enters the crushing chamber through the feed opening at the top. the feed plate distributes the stone equally around the mantle and concave. as the mantle oscillates, the material is crushed by the squeezing action between the mantle and concave.

sizing of the stone can be changed by increasing the closed side setting to generate large stone or by decreasing the closed side setting to make smaller stone. feedstock can be reduced via crushing in a number of phases, called primary, secondary, and tertiary. crusher selection affects particle size and shape.

the cones are available in standard and short head configurations. this is the “work horse” of cone crushers!! it is the clear choice for the hardest rock applications. its unique bronze bushing liners allow it to crush even the hardest material with little chance of failure. unlike the competition, our cone does not have expensive roller bearings which are prone to failure under severe applications. our 3′ cone is nearly identical to the sbm/sbm design. nearly every part including the wear liners are interchangeable with the older sbm style cone. the cone has spring style relief, manual adjust and lock. all cones come complete with a packaged skid mounted lubrication system with proper gauges and safeties built in.

what is crusher plant?

how does crusher plant work?

crusher plant replaces the excavator’s bucket. operate the excavator as you normally would using crusher plant as a bucket. once material to be crushed is scooped in, curl the bucket upward and swing the excavator arm to the stockpile area. crusher plant starts by pressing a foot pedal. the provided joystick allows you to regulate the rate of feed. crushed material will discharge out the bottom. it’s that easy!! the dust suppression system comes on automatically when it senses crusher plant is ready to crush. once empty, close feeder, shut off crusher plant and start over.

the built in tramp iron relief system allows un-crushable material to pass freely. in the case of a jam up, simply turn crusher plant upside down until the piece falls out. sounds easy? it is!

when crusher plant is not required, simply remove crusher plant and replace it with a regular bucket attachment or other attachment.
